If your pooch doesn't have a live-in canine playmate to tug with, you can be the playmate. (Don't worry you can grip with your opposable thumbs rather than your teeth!) Choose a suitable toy, such as a knotted rope or ball on a rope. It's best to keep the toy low to the ground, so your dog is not encouraged to jump up. There really aren't any rules, just tug away. (Be sure you are prepared in event that your pup lets go!) When you have had enough (We assume it will be you the owner who gives up), place a tasty treat on the end of your dog's nose and he will gladly let go of the toy.
